We Are All Weird by Seth Godwin is a free pre-order today in the Amazon Kindle store, and if you place your free pre-order now Amazon will deliver it to your Kindle (for free) on its release date of January 1, 2036.  You can place your pre-order if you click here or type in http://amzn.to/nCDS75 into your computer’s web browser.

Here is the book’s description from the Amazon website:

We Are All Weird is a celebration of choice, of treating different people differently and of embracing the notion that everyone deserves the dignity and respect that comes from being heard. The book calls for end of mass and for the beginning of offering people more choices, more interests and giving them more authority to operate in ways that reflect their own unique values.

For generations, marketers, industrialists and politicians have tried to force us into little boxes, complying with their idea of what we should buy, use or want. And in an industrial, mass-market driven world, this was efficient and it worked. But what we learned in this new era is that mass limits our choice because it succeeds on conformity.

As Godin has identified, a new era of weirdness is upon us. People with more choices, more interests and the power to do something about it are stepping forward and insisting that the world work in a different way. By enabling choice we allow people to survive and thrive.

Bootscootin Blahniks Free from Amazon Kindle Store

Bootscootin’ Slahniks by D.D. Scott is free today from the Amazon Kindle store, and has received a perfect 5 out of 5 stars based on 16 customer reviews.  You can pick up your free copy by clicking here or typing in http://amzn.to/ogvsbL into your computer’s web browser.

Here is the book’s description from the Amazon website:

Romantic Comedy writer D. D. Scott two-steps into your heart with book one of her debut series. It’s Chick Lit, Gone-Country. Think Sex and the City meets Urban Cowboy.

Manhattan apparel designer Roxy Rae Vaughn, who’s also a still-in-the-closet, country line dancing queen, wants to be a fashion success story. Tired of being nothing more than a Fifth Avenue up-and-comer, thanks to her elitist parents, Roxy moves to Nashville, Tennessee and opens a boutique in a local tractor supply store, the only retail space she can afford. Short on cash and way, way down on luck, she rear-ends a pick-up truck belonging to a tomato-growin’, bootscootin’ cowboy who is anything but the perfect fit for her career plans, although he is her ideal dance partner. Can Roxy accept that her best fit is on the dance floor moving to her own style and her cowboy’s lead?

Tomato farmer by day and bootscootin’ instructor by night Zayne McDonald doesn’t give a damn about winning Nashville’s heirloom tomato contest, even though his late father did. Zayne wants to honor his father, but what he really wants is to line dance his way to a winner’s spotlight. When he and Roxy are discovered by a huge dance show producer, Zayne learns it’s partnering with Roxy that’s his winning hybrid mix. That is, if he can keep her and the tomato contest away from Beefsteak Jack Baudlin, the toughest tomato man in CMT country.

God Save the Mark Free from Amazon Kindle Store

God Save the Mark by Donald E. Westlake is free today from the Amazon Kindle store, and has received an average user rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars based on 14 customer reviews.  You can pick up your free copy by clicking here or typing in http://amzn.to/qMl25i into your computer’s web browser.

Here is the book’s description from the Amazon website:

Donald E. Westlake’s great comic suspense novel, won MWA’s Edgar Award in 1967. Con men descend upon its gullible hero when he comes into a $317,000 inheritance but Fred Fitch, as lovable as he is naive, stumbles to victory. Westlake’s earlier novel THE FUGITIVE PIGEON virtually originated the modern comic-suspense genre so brilliantly refined in this later work.

Donald E. Westlake is generally regarded as the greatest writer of comic crime fiction of all time. Many of his books have been made into movies, including The Hot Rock, Bank Shot, Cops and Robbers, and The Hunter, first filmed as the noir classic Point Blank with Lee Marvin and Angie Dickinson and then as Payback, starring Mel Gibson. He has won three Edgar Allan Poe Awards and has been named a Grand Master by the Mystery Writers of America. He and his wife live in New York.

Buddy Holly Free Kindle Book

Here’s one that is a little different, and the reviews for it say it is more of a comedy: Buddy Holly is Alive and Well on Ganymede by Bradley Denton, which is free from the ManyBooks website.  You can pick up your free copy by clicking here or typing in http://bit.ly/lLVsQH into your computer’s web browser.

This one is not available inthe Amazon Kindle store, but the paperback version is listed for sale at $39.99 at Amazon.  Strange.

On the right-hand side of the web page you will see the download drop-down menu; you can see they have it formatted for
many of the eBook reader formats so make sure you choose the Kindle version. Once you download it to your computer, you will need to transfer it over to your Kindle – that’s a fairly easy process.  If you don’t know how to do that, you can click
here
to read my free guide on how to transfer content to your computer.  This is the same guide I charge 99 cents for in the Amazon Kindle store, but you get it for free.

While you’re at the ManyBooks website, you may want to check it out as they have thousands of books in the Kindle format.

Here is the book’s description from the ManyBooks website, but please be sure to read the reader reviews:

When televisions worldwide begin broadcasting a nonstop, noninterruptible live performance by Buddy Holly purporting to originate somewhere in the vicinity of Jupiter, Oliver Vale–the apparent object of the broadcasts–finds himself drafted for a mission so secret that even he is not sure of its purpose. (Campbell Award winner, 1992)
